Approach to Treatment

TAPA Clinical Associates excel at treating patients along the entire continuum of severity of clinical presentation. Some patients are extremely disturbed and require immediate hospitalization on a locked unit due to suicidal or homicidal ideation or psychosis. Other patients are high functioning professionals seen on an outpatient basis where anxiety or depression is affecting work, family, or self-esteem. In addition to treating dual diagnosis patients, all Clinical Associates are fully trained to treat patients who present with uncomplicated psychological or psychiatric problems without a co-occurring chemical dependency condition. Our approach to treatment emphasizes developing a patient-therapist relationship in which work unfolds as a mutual, collaborative process occurring in an atmosphere of safety, caring, and respect. Throughout a patient’s treatment, TAPA clinicians use a multidisciplinary treatment approach wherein the lead Clinical Associate assembles and manages a team of psychologists and other professionals with specialties in medicine, health care (e.g. yoga, physical therapy), law, and a variety of other skill sets so as to provide specific services to optimize each patient’s particular needs.
