Directions to Pasadena from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)
Pasadena is approximately 27 miles from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). Driving time can vary from 30 to 60 minutes, depending upon traffic conditions and time of day. For more information about LAX, please visit http://www.lawa.org/welcomeLAX.aspx.
There are four different options for transportation from LAX to Pasadena:
1. Car Rental
The urban plan for Pasadena and the greater Los Angeles area was designed with automobiles in mind, and it is difficult to spend any time here without ready access to a car. As such, you may want to rent upon arrival at LAX. Approximately 40 companies provide car rental services, and 10 companies provide curbside pick-up and drop-off services via courtesy shuttles. 2. SuperShuttle
SuperShuttle is a shared-ride airport van shuttle, offering door-to-door curbside pick-up and drop-off services. The cost from LAX to Pasadena is approximately $31 one way. For more information about SuperShuttle, please visit http://www.supershuttle.com.
3. Town Car and Limousine Services

4. FlyAway + Metro Gold Line
The most inexpensive transportation from LAX to Pasadena is to take the FlyAway bus shuttle service to downtown Los Angeles and then transfer to the Metro Gold Line directly into Pasadena. FlyAway is $7 and the Metro Gold Line is $1.25, for a total one-way fare of $8.25.
FlyAway is a bus shuttle service that operates between LAX and Union Station every half-hour, 24 hours a day. FlyAway provides curbside pick-up and shuttles passengers directly to Union Station, a major subway, railway, and light rail transportation hub in downtown Los Angeles. Take the Metro Gold Line Northbound (Sierra Madre Villa) to Pasadena. Exit at the Fillmore Station for the offices of The Arroyos ® Psychological Associates. Directions to Pasadena from Burbank Airport (BUR)
Pasadena is approximately 18 miles from Burbank Airport (BUR). Technically, the name of the airport is Bob Hope Airport, and it was formerly named the Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport, but local Angelenos usually just call it the Burbank Airport. - South Lake Avenue: www.southlakeavenue.com. Macy's, restaurants, and value shopping opportunities.
- Santa Anita Shopping Mall (Arcadia, CA): www.westfield.com/santaanita. Large mall with restaurants, theaters, ample name-brand shopping in all major categories.
- Hastings Ranch Shopping Center and Hastings Village Shopping Center: On the north side of Foothill Boulevard, east and especially west of the intersection of Rosemead Boulevard. Inexpensive restaurants, grocery stores, pharmacies, convenience retail shops, linens and bath items, computers and electronics, sporting goods, value clothing chains.
- Orangewood Shopping Center: Small shopping center directly across from Huntington Hospital on the north side of California Boulevard, 50 yards west of The Arroyos® Psychological Associates offices. Vons grocery store and pharmacy, take-out restaurants, post office, ATM machines, other small businesses. There is also a UPS store and a Starbucks across the street from our offices, a dry cleaners in our building complex, and five inexpensive restaurants less than a block from our offices.

- Pasadena Playhouse: www.pasadenaplayhouse.org. A fixture of American theater since 1917, the Pasadena Playhouse showcases classic and contemporary theater with Oscar and Emmy award-winning actors and directors.
- Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanic Garden (Arcadia, CA): www.arboretum.org. The Arboretum is a large botanical garden and historical site that contains many rare and endangered plants from throughout the world.
- Descanso Gardens (La Canada-Flintridge, CA): www.descansogardens.org. An internationally renowned botanical garden and beautiful horticultural displays.
- Brookside Golf Club: www.brookside.americangolf.com. A 36 hole, par 72 golf course with a full service restaurant and golf shop. Located next to the Rose Bowl Stadium.
- Rose Bowl Stadium: www.rosebowlstadium.com. A National Historic Landmark built in 1922, the Rose Bowl Stadium has hosted many world-class football and soccer games over the past nearly ninety years. Every morning local joggers make the oval around the Rose Bowl en masse.
- Rose Bowl Aquatics Center: www.rosebowlaquatics.com. Located next to the Rose Bowl and the Brookside Golf Club in Brookside Park, the Aquatics Center is a world-class facility offering recreational swimming, as well as instructional and competitive diving, water polo, and a Masters Swim Team.
- California Institute of Technology: www.caltech.edu. California Institute of Technology, better known as Caltech, is one of the world's premiere universities. U.S. News and World Report lists Caltech as the fourth highest ranked national university in the United States, bested by only Harvard, Princeton, and Yale.
